The Gastro Pub is located at 11742 N.Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa, behind Mimi’s Café.  This pub was named for Dale Mabry, a native of Florida and an American World War I aviator.  Enjoy good food while lounging outside at the tiki bar or inside in a casual, pub style atmosphere.  The menu consists of everything from their delicious “Tacos” lettuce wraps to a “1891 Angus Burger.”  You can enjoy live music on the weekends, Trivia night every Wednesday and the Ronnie Setzer car show the last Saturday of every month.  We are pleased to have Dale 1891 Gastro Pub sponsor our “Grande” Social on May 31^st, in our clubhouse at 6:30 PM.    

The best way to judge a seafood restaurant is on the consistency of their menu. If it’s always the same, you should suspect that they’re probably serving up mediocre fish from large suppliers. But if the menu changes daily, you know that what you’re going to sample is probably drawn freshly from the catch of local fishermen. Thankfully, Tampa’s Catch Twenty-Three is in the latter category, and locals have been raving about the excellent food on offer here since opening. Fish is the dominant force on the menu, with some of the best dishes being the “endless” grouper sandwich (served only on Saturdays) and the guava salmon wrapped in smoked bacon, which expertly melds the tropical flavor of the fruit with the earthy bacon and fish for a spectacular taste experience. Catch Twenty-Three does offer other dishes, including a burger that some claim is among the best in Tampa. With a number of weekly specials and events, Catch Twenty-Three has potential to become one of your regular favorites!

At Tampa’s Zen Bistro, a kitchen of incredibly talented sushi chefs use amazingly fresh seafood to create some very high-quality Japanese cuisine. The nigiri is excellent here, with a varied palate of fish on display. Regulars say that the specialty rolls are really where Zen Bistro's menu shines. The lobster lotus roll is an exercise in delicious decadence, with tempura lobster complemeneted with avocado, cucumber, mango, and wasabi tobiko to create an incredibly rich and complex bite. The Tao roll – baked scallop, snow crab and avocado – is also delicious. If your tastes run towards cooked food, Zen Bistro's kitchen produces a number of well-received Asian classics. The décor here is also excellent: it's head and shoulders above most of other Tampa Bay sushi bars, with a lovely Zen garden look.
